Projects
Project #1: The E-Portfolio
Well, that would be this. Right now, it's not polished. This page is something like the old version of my site and the rest is either like the new or is still rough and being worked on. I work on this Web site in direct XHTML only. Down with FrontPage!
Project #2: The German Department Web Site
This was a large project for me. I hope you like it. The menu is my favorite part because it was so simple to implement. I made a script that would write the menu into the page and display which page of the site you are on. Because I did that, I could modify one file when I had an addition to the menu instead of modifying fifteen independent Web Pages. Well, anyway, I think the rest of the site speaks for itself. It was completed in the fall of 2005.
I've been working on and maintaining this site. The menu was changed to expand on mouseOver on Nov. 27, 2006. I made the new Wolfi image in Oct. 2006. The auto-loading banner was made when I was originally working on the site, in Fall '05, at near the same time that I made the banner for the AUCS site.
Project #3: Robert Vodnoy's homepage
I worked with Dr. Robert Vodnoy so that he would have a homepage. It's simple design makes it quick to load. This was mostly done in the fall of 2005.
Project #4: The AUCS homepage
This was also done in the fall of 2005. It's the Aberdeen University Civic Symphony homepage. It had to be updated from an old site in order to fit into the NSU template.
Project #5: The NSU Media Services homepage
This is from the spring of '06. I worked on only the home page--only this one page. However, I am also the one that updated the slideshow in the middle of the page. I took the pictures at the IDEA conference, and I worked them up in the GIMP to have a soft white border and to be the right size. I also replaced the Javascript code that was behind it to be compatible in more browsers.
As of December 2006, this page has been updated by somebody else, but the javascript for the image slideshow continues to be used.
Project #6: The Intramurals small logo
The regular-sized logo was not done by me, and the small logo has not been updated on any of the pages that I can see (3-8-06), but Russel Vincent can comfirm that I did improve the small logo by making the edges smoother.
Project #7: (current project) School of Education's Starport
I've been working and training with John Romeo in order to be able to do this project. It involves using Visual Studio 2005, C#, HTML, CSS, and SQL. As of now, I've made the pages required for adding a disposition to the database and for making a report page to show information about dispositions. The report page was especially troublesome because of the number of selections that can be made about which Dispositions to show. For example, a user might want to see the dispositions for three certain students from five classes for any semesters.
