Lesson Summary: |
The students will learn about organisms that exist in
the world and learn about what there are made out of. This learning
will happen by group activities, a nature walk, a presentation,
drawing of an animal and plant cell, drawing of an ecosystem and to
fill out a Punnett square. |

Students will have
to be able to identify living and nonliving organisms. |

Lesson Objectives:

- Students will be able to tell the difference
between a plant and animal cell.
- Students will be able to identify the major
components of a plant and animal cell.

- First Week, Quiz at
the end of the week
- Second Week, A test over all the unit at the
end of the week

Procedural Activities: |
- There will be group activities.
This will be from a drawing an ecosystem. (Interpersonal)
- An outdoor walk to show an example of an
ecosystem. This walk will be around the neighborhood of the
school and would last about an hour. (Naturalist)
- A group or individual presentation with the
use of vocabulary words to learn about living organisms. The
presentation will be on a part of an animal or plant cell. The
presentation will tell about he part, what kind of cell it is
found and what the function the part does.

- Punnett squares will be used to demonstrate
how traits are passed from parents to offspring.

- An plant and animal cell will be drawn along
with an example of an ecosystem. (Visual-spatial)
