NAME: Sundance Mechaley Wicks AGE: 24 (August 9th, 1980) BORN: Rapid City, South Dakota RAISED: Gillette, Wyoming SIBLINGS: Luke (20) & Kelsey(22) PARENTS: Mark & Barb Wicks |
Raised in a town that has won 10 of the last 15 state championships in men's basketball, I have grown to love the game of basketball through the years. My parents, brother and sister all share the same passion of athletics that I have and have been instrumental in my life. I thank my parents for leading me in the right direction and letting me make my decisions. (Not all of them were right) I thank my brother and sister for showing me that there is more than one way to do things in life. With that in mind, the definition for success is different for everybody and as long as you find peace within yourself and what you are doing, you are on the right path. |

For the past two summers coach Jerry Krause (Director of
Basketball Operations at Gonzaga) has given me the opportunity to help
give back to the game by producing a series of skills and drills videos.
This series that you see above is a five tape compilation of skills and
drills for youth players who are just starting to get involved in the
game. The ages appropriate for this series is anywhere from 7
years of age to 14 years of age. These drills help young players
to form the fundamental foundation for which the game is played.

| I am currently a Graduate Assistant
Men's Basketball Coach at Northern
State University in Aberdeen, SD. Prior to getting
involved in the coaching profession I was a collegiate basketball player
at Northern State for four years and upon graduation I played
professionally overseas in the top division of Sweden's Basketligan.
Basketball has been an interregnal part of my life for the last 15
years. The teachers and mentors I have had have helped me grow
spiritually, mentally and physically. Lessons learned on the court
through basketball have helped me become tougher everyday in the game of
life. I would just like to thank and recognize all the coaches who
I learned from throughout the years. Lifelong teachers, coaches & mentors:
Thanks To These Don Meyer Coaching Academy Clinicians:
I PRAY THAT I CAN GIVE AS MUCH BACK TO THE GAME AND TO STUDENT ATHLETES AS YOU HAVE GIVEN ME. |
